Twenty years of looking at how things could be better.
I'm Charlotte Kroon.
For over twenty years I have worked in central roles where people, processes, information and systems come together.
The organisations and the job titles changed. The thread didn't: I want to understand how something works, and I quickly see where it could be simpler, smarter or more logical.
A growing family business
As the first employee of an online wholesaler and e-commerce company, I grew along with the organisation to around fifteen people. Broad responsibility for office management, HR, customer service, warehouse and the structure and processes needed to keep growth workable.
An international industrial organisation
As Process & Technology Lead I worked on an international implementation programme. Several regions were in different implementation phases at the same time, so I coordinated processes, data, stakeholders and deadlines. I also kept improving the implementation itself: fixed steps and templates, with lessons learned from earlier regions applied straight away to the next ones.
A Dutch financing and development organisation
Work at the intersection of processes, information, data and systems. Document management, SharePoint, data quality, management information, KPIs, reporting, Dynamics and automation.
30 minutes → 15 seconds.
A weekly report took around thirty minutes of repetitive manual work.
Within four weeks: one click. About fifteen seconds.
Not because thirty minutes was a huge problem. But because there was no good reason to spend those thirty minutes again every week.
I'm strongly Microsoft 365 oriented and have worked with SharePoint, Dynamics, Power Automate and Excel, alongside a background in Data Intelligence and Business Intelligence & Analytics.
But my interest in systems goes further than specific software. I genuinely enjoy diving into a new system to find out how it works, what it can do, and what we could use it for that isn't the obvious application.
That is where I'm creative: combining existing possibilities and sometimes using systems slightly differently than intended, when that makes the work simpler or smarter.

Not because everything should be automated. Don't automate what you can eliminate.
The Improvement Office is brought in for temporary improvement and implementation assignments.
My strength is where something still needs to be figured out, simplified, set up, implemented, automated or embedded.
I come in to make something better, and set it up so it can carry on without me.
